SUMMARY:Free Program for Middle School Students Explores Museum Careers
DESCRIPTION:"Museum Underground: Creating Exhibits\," April 20\, 4 p.m.\, will help participants think about their own skills and interests as they learn about possibilities of careers in museums and collections. The program will include touring behind the scenes and hearing from specialists about collecting and storing old things\, how knowledge about the past can help us understand today's world\, and how museum exhibits are built. Register for the free 45-minute program at MUgMuseums.eventbrite.com. Programs are sponsored by the State Historical Society of North Dakota and are led by Stephanie Schick\, a gallery guide at the ND Heritage Center & State Museum. She is a graduate of Northern Arizona University who previously worked as an educator at the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium in Dubuque\, Iowa. Schick\, who has a passion for history\, science\, and education\, loves to travel and has also taught at schools in Kenya and Egypt.
