Barbara?s book Women of the Northern Plains was awarded the Caroline Bancroft Prize for the best book in Western History in 2005 by the Western History Association. Barbara is a noted historian and continues her research and writing in Bismarck\, where she has been a consultant for the State Historical Society of North Dakota on several projects. The event at Overlook Ridge is open to the public! It is a chance for residents and the public to come and discover North Dakota stories from the past.
