DESCRIPTION:Watford City-based singer/songwriter and Nashville recording artist Jessie Veeder will be performing a free concert\, "Coming Home\," April 30 at 2 p.m. at the North Dakota Heritage Center in Bismarck. The concert will walk the audience through the seasons\, featuring stories\, readings\, and music inspired by buttes\, coulees\, cowboys\, horses\, and family that influence Veeder. Following the family-friendly concert\, Veeder will be signing her new book\, "Coming Home." Books will be available for purchase. Veeder's book\, "Coming Home\," includes photography\, poetry\, recipes\, stories\, and memories carefully handpicked to tell the story of why the prairie continues to pull us home. Veeder has been a symbol of folk music in the badlands of western North Dakota since she released her first original album when she was only 16 years old. Veeder was voted North Dakota's "Favorite Folk Artist" at the 2016 North Dakota Music Awards. She also works as a weekly columnist for statewide newspapers and maintains the popular blog "Meanwhile\, back at the ranch " chronicling life in western North Dakota. This program is part of the State Historical Society of North Dakota's Sensational Sundays program.
