Campbell wrote about and photographed not only the natural beauty of the Missouri itself\, but about the communities he explored and the personalities he met during his six-week exploration.\n\n\n\nCampbell visited the Bismarck-Mandan area Aug. 11-14\, 2016. The book features photographs and recollections of visits to the rebuilt Fort Mandan near Washburn\, and Fort Abraham Lincoln\, as well as the North Dakota State Capitol in Bismarck\, a building that is unique in architecture from most state capitol buildings. Also featured is Bismarck's Alley 5.5\, where local artists have transformed an alley into an open-air gallery of murals.\n\n\n\nCampbell\, a retired math professor at Missouri State in Springfield\, has been revisiting his 2016 stops this summer as he promotes the book\, which is published by Acclaim Press.
