BAYOU BUG TALES is a fresh take on the classic fable of The Ant and The Grasshopper set in the Louisiana Bayou. The Ant is tirelessly working on storing up for the winter while the lazy Grasshopper sits back and relaxes watching her do the work. This fun and exciting new script by Patricia Hanes Ainesworth and Terence Alaric Levitt will be presented as part of the Bismarck Public Schools SIPS program with an in house run at Dakota Stage. Performed by talented adults for children eager to learn and grow, this production will by fanciful and fun for all involved. Dakota Stage is searching for enthusiastic actors wishing to sing and story-tell in an energetic and educational way. We will be holding open auditions on Wednesday, December 10 from 7-9pm. We will be casting a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 12 men and women. Auditioners should prepare 16-36 bars of a simple song and anticipate cold readings from the script. A full rehearsal calendar will be available for viewing during auditions. A possible paid touring opportunity beyond the initial run of the show is pending.
