Join us for a free book reading, lecture, and signing by author Terry L. Shoptaugh. His recent book, "Sons of the Wild Jackass: The Nonpartisan League in North Dakota," will be available for sale. Shoptaugh will read from his book and discuss how the Nonpartisan League (NPL) came into existence, became a force in politics and government on the Great Plains, and influenced the nation’s agricultural policies throughout the 20th century. A retired archivist at Minnesota State University Moorhead, Shoptaugh taught history and humanities courses and published five books on the history and culture of North Dakota and Minnesota. This program is part of the State Historical Society of North Dakota's Sensational Sundays series. Sensational Sundays are free cultural programs that include a variety of lectures, concerts, movies, and tours.
