About Us

Bank of North Dakota is the only state-owned bank in the U.S. Established in 1919, its' mission is to support agriculture, commerce and industry in North Dakota. It supports commercial and agriculture through loan programs that consumers access through their local lender. Student loans and two specific agriculture loans are offered directly to the state's residents through BND. It also supports SmartWithMyMoney.nd.gov, the state's financial literacy website open to all ND residents at no charge, North Dakota Dollars for Scholars, and STAND.nd.gov which is the state's sustainability effort. The ND Legislature also directs BND to support the state by administering infrastructure programs to support endeavors such as school construction, water and roads.
