Arthur A. Link Fiddle Festival
The Annual Arthur A. Link Fiddle Festival will begin at the Former Governors 'Mansion State Historic Site on Saturday, Feb. 29 and conclude with a concert by the Bismarck Mandan Symphony Youth Orchestra at the North Dakota Heritage Center on Sunday, March 1. The Festival is free and open to the public. Area string students will perform at the Former Governors' Mansion beginning at 9 a.m. and ending by noon on Feb.29. Between student performances, entertainment will be provided by the Strolling Strings of Bismarck. The group is a student performing organization sponsored by Bismarck Public Schools. Seating will be extremely limited due to the large number of students and their families participating in the event. On March 1 at 3 p.m. the Bismarck Mandan Youth Symphony Orchestra will perform a concert in the Russell Reid Auditorium at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum. The Arthur A. Link Fiddle Festival is sponsored by the Society for the Preservation of the Former Governors' Mansion, the State Historical Society of North Dakota, and Bismarck Public Schools to promote string music education and appreciation in honor of late North Dakota Gov. Arthur A. Link and his love of playing the violin.
