Auditions for A Little Bit of Magic
A Little Bit of Magic is a fun and fantastical musical about a wizard searching for his something special in the world. This exciting and energetic family show will be presented as part of the Bismarck Public Schools SIPS program with an in house run at Dakota Stage. Performed by talented adults for children eager to learn and grow, this production will by a darling delight for all involved. Dakota Stage is searching for enthusiastic actors wishing to sing and story-tell in an exuberant and educational way. We will be holding open auditions on Sunday, January 24th from 6-8pm. We will be casting a minimum of 4 men and women. Auditioners should prepare 16-36 bars of a simple song and anticipate cold readings from the script. A full rehearsal calendar will be available for viewing during auditions. The following roles with be cast: Player One: An actress who plays ? Narrator, Wonder Wanda, Marilyn Melody, and Depressed Daisy Wonder Wanda ? A haughty wizard with a British accent Marilyn Melody ? A country western star like Dolly Parton Depressed Daisy ? A down-trodden, hunched-over flower who speaks with a polish (or an Old World) accent. She is like a chronically depressed grandma Player Two: An actor who plays ? Narrator, Magnificent Mervin, Coco the Clown, and The Weatherman Magnificent Mervin ? A haughty wizard with a British accent Coco the Clown ? A fast-talking funny-man with a New York accent The Weatherman ? A melodrama-type villain Player Three: An actress who plays ? Narrator and Do-Nothing Dale Do-Nothing Dale ? A little, picked-upon wizard Pianist: A person who can also play the piano and plays ?
