Chocolate + Beer Night at the Museum
Fantastic history? Chocolate? Great local beer? Check, check, and check! An evening of relaxed fun is on tap with Laughing Sun Brewing Co. co-owner Mike Fohlich as he provides a spirited discussion of “The History of Beer.” He’ll also share his trials and errors with creating unique local microbrews. Following Mike’s talk, mingle in the Atrium and enjoy a flight of three local beer samples from the Laughing Sun brewery: • 19th Amendment (chocolate malt, chocolate, chokecherries) • Kite Flyer Mild • Strawberry Wheat Each beer will be paired with its own “mystery” gourmet dessert and savory appetizers related to chocolate! We’re keeping these gourmet goodies a secret until you get to the tastings, but they will be especially created for this event by Edgar Oliviera of the James River Café and his pastry chef Ashley Torgerson, graduate of the Le Cordon Bleu Institute. $20. Pre-registration required by July 7. Ages 21+. Limited seating. Register online at statemuseum.nd.gov/natmchocolate 6:30 - 7 p.m. Registered guests can enjoy free admission to Chocolate: The Exhibition 7 p.m. “The History of Beer” with Mike Frohlich, Russell Reid Auditorium, followed by beer and noshing. Brought to you by the State Historical Society of North Dakota and the James River Café as a program of "Chocolate: The Exhibition" now on display at the ND Heritage Center & State Museum. Questions?
