Command and Control Film Screening
The North Dakota Humanities Council is teaming up with the North Dakota State Historical Society for a "Sensational Sundays" presentation. When is a "near miss" too close? This is the question posed by the documentary COMMAND AND CONTROL, based on Eric Schlosser's book of the same name. Schlosser was Pulitzer Prize finalist in 2014 for his investigative and historical account of America's nuclear arsenal. Schlosser will be in Bismarck on September 24 for the GameChanger: Pulitzer Prize Edition ideas festival put on by the NDHC. He and other Pulitzer-winning journalists, both national and local, will present on the importance of news literacy. Those who are looking for a more in-depth discussion of the documentary's themes can join the free GameChanger101 communiversity class the following evening (August 29) at 7 p.m. at the Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library. All are welcome to experience this inside look at America's secret stockpile.
