The Dakota Stage season will open on October 8, 2015. Season tickets are on sale now at www.dakotastageltd.com. All performances will be held at the Dakota Stage Playhouse at 412 East Main Ave., in the heart of downtown Bismarck. The season includes: THE 39 STEPS ? October 8-18, 2015 Mix a Hitchcock masterpiece with a juicy spy novel, add a dash of Monty Python and you have The 39 Steps, a fast-paced whodunit for anyone who loves the magic of theatre! This 2-time Tony® and Drama Desk Award-winning treat is packed with nonstop laughs, over 150 zany characters (played by a ridiculously talented cast of 4), an on-stage plane crash, handcuffs, missing fingers and some good old-fashioned romance! CHRISTMAS MY WAY ? December 3-13, 2015 From the team that created My Way, the hottest musical revue in America right now, it's beginning to look a lot like a free, fresh, knocked-out coo-coo Sinatra Christmas, complete with 40 swingin' hits perfect for the holidays. Crooning Frank?s favorites including, "Mistletoe and Holly," "The Christmas Song," "Christmas Memories," "Winter Wonderland," "Silver Bells" and "I'll Be Home for Christmas,? Christmas My Way invites you to grab your bird, jingle your bells, pour a good stiff egg nog, and have yourself a merry little Christmas NOW baby! TWILIGHT OF THE GOLDS ? January 28-February 7, 2016 If your parents knew everything about you before you were born, would you be here? That is the question posed in this entertaining drama. All is well when Suzanne Gold and her close New York family discover that she is pregnant, until a prenatal test reveals that the baby will most likely be homosexual. The news forces the entire Gold family to confront issues of bigotry, evolution and the limits of love. NEXT TO NORMAL ? March 17-27, 2016 Dad?s an architect; Mom rushes to pack lunches and pour cereal; their daughter and son are bright, wise-cracking teens, appearing to be a typical American family. And yet their lives are anything but normal, because the mother has been battling manic depression for 16 years. Next To Normal takes audiences into the minds and hearts of each character, presenting their family?s story with love, sympathy and heart. HAY FEVER ? May 5-15, 2016 Hoping for a quiet weekend in the country with some guests, David Bliss, a novelist and his wife Judith, a retired actress, find that an impossible dream when their high-spirited children Simon and Sorel appear with guests of their own. A house full of drama waits to be ignited as misunderstandings and tempers flare. With Judith's new flame and David's newest literary 'inspiration' keeping company as the children follow suit, the Bliss family lives up to its name as the 'quiet weekend' comes to an exhausting and hilarious finale worthy of Feydeau. In addition to the main stage theater season, Dakota Stage will continue its highly successful Stand-up Comedy Series, bringing the hottest up and coming comics on the scene to Bismarck, and the Flashback Film Series will provide a wide variety of wonderful fun for the whole family. They will also be producing several different programs for children offering performance opportunities as well as education, enrichment and enjoyment.
