Hero Day at the YMCA
The Missouri Valley Family YMCA is pleased to present HERO DAY, in honor of all local police officers, firefighters and emergency medical service professionals. The Y, committed to our community and those who serve and protect us, wishes to offer our gratitude to all uniformed first responders, member or non-member, with this special recognition event. On Tuesday, October 11th, any time during regular business hours, all area police, fire and EMS are invited to stop by the Y to receive a free token of appreciation and a personal thank you for their daily service to our community. All heroes who visit, whether a member or non-member, will also be welcome to use the Y for free that day, and if a participating non-member joins on October 11th, they will pay no enrollment fee. In addition, Y board member, Lieutenant Mike McMerty of the Bismarck Police Department and Y member, Captain Luke Teagle of the Bismarck Fire Department, will be on hand from 10am-11am to meet and greet with area children and provide them with some safety information and fun take home items. While our heroes are in the lobby that morning, press are encouraged to stop by for interviews, photos and footage as the Y acknowledges all our local brave men and women with a special gift. Throughout our continued membership drive from October 5th through 30th, all new members will “pay the day” on enrollment, so the sooner they sign up, the lower the rate! And with the opening of Family Wellness in January, membership has even more value with full access at a second convenient location. This fabulous new facility is a state of the art fitness center featuring even more programs and services and providing additional opportunities for family activities and healthy living. YMCA members will have full access to Family Wellness which boasts beautiful views and top of the line equipment and amenities. Join us on HERO DAY, October 11th, to witness the Y’s commitment to community. Anyone who participates in Y programming will observe the supportive team and inviting facility providing outstanding service to individuals of all ages. Everyone is encouraged to experience firsthand the Y’s dedication to youth development, healthy living and social responsibility.
