“Romeo and Juliet” Performances by Capitol Shakespeare at Former Governors’ Mansion and ND Heritage Center & State Museum
Capitol Shakespeare Traveling Troupe’s production of “Romeo and Juliet” will be performed July 28 at 7 p.m. at the Former Governors’ Mansion State Historic Site and July 30 at 2 p.m. at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum. The performances are free and open to the public. Capitol Shakespeare Traveling Troupe features students ages 12-18. The play is presented with simplistic sets and technical elements to focus the audience attention on the words of William Shakespeare and will include some modern narrations to help audiences understand what is happening. The performance at the North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum is part of Sensational Sundays, free public programs sponsored by the State Historical Society of North Dakota. Programming includes lectures, concerts, movies, and tours provide engaging, educational, historic, and cultural information. The Former Governors’ Mansion’s summer hours are Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday-Sunday, noon-4 p.m. The North Dakota Heritage Center & State Museum is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., and Saturday-Sunday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information contact Erik Holland, curator of education, at 701.328.2792.
