Youth to Lead History Tours at Former Governors’ Mansion State Historic Site
The public is invited to free Youth-Led History Tours on July 25 from 1-3 p.m. at the Former Governors' Mansion State Historic Site, 320 E. Ave. B, Bismarck. Local youths will lead tours while portraying children of governors living at the Mansion from various eras. Children being portrayed include the son of Gov. Frank White, the daughter of Gov. William Langer, and more. Tours will focus on activities, music, and games of the era and stories of guests during that time. Children will also share what their school days involved, how they celebrated holidays, what service staff prepared for dinners, and more. Tour times will be flexible to accommodate visitors. The Former Governors’ Mansion is a state historic site managed by the State Historical Society of North Dakota. Summer hours are Monday-Friday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday, noon-4 p.m. For more information about the Former Governors’ Mansion, contact 701.328.9528.
