Persons interesting in exploring the option of owning, operating or investing in a franchise business are encouraged to explore the ins and outs of this business format at a free workshop being hosted by the Mandan Tomorrow - Economic Opportunity and Prosperity Committee. The workshop will be held Thursday, Oct. 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Seven Seas Inn, Mandan.
The committee is organizing third in a series of 2013 business workshops as a means of providing assistance to aspiring entrepreneurs looking to start businesses and residents interested in business investments. Another goal is to continue bolstering the array of retail, restaurant and service businesses available in Mandan.
The “Business Franchise 101” information session will feature successful, local business franchise owners and at least one national franchise looking for a local owner or investor to establish a presence in Mandan. Speakers are Mike Wieland of Dairy Queen, Mandan; Dennis Friesz of Safe Ship, Mandan; and Craig Ragland, director of franchise sales and development for AmericInn, based in Chanhassen, Minn. Information will also be provided on local business assistance programs and other franchises seeking a local franchisee.
Advance registration is requested. Sign up by Oct. 8 at www.cityofmandan.com under the “Meeting and Event Registration” tab or call 667-3485.
The information session is co-hosted by the City of Mandan Business Development Office, Bismarck-Mandan Development Association and Bismarck-Mandan Chamber.
