The Emperor's New Clothes

Shade Tree Players in conjunction with the Bismarck Public School SIP?s program is proud to present The Emperor?s New Clothes, the funny and fantastical fable, presented as a contemporary musical based on the classic tale.  Starring a diverse and dynamic cast and directed by Anne Jorgenson Green, The Emperor?s New Clothes will surely be a delight for children of all ages. Emperor Victorious the Vain is the beloved ruler of a small kingdom, but he has one major flaw: his appearance.  He thinks of nearly nothing else. His wife the Empress and his Court are beside themselves because they know that nothing will ever get done while the Emperor is dissatisfied with his wardrobe.  The last tailor was banished to the showcaps and the Emperor?s latest proclamation states that the tailor who can make him a suit unlike any that exists will be richly rewarded.  Enter two mischievous flim-flammers with their ?invisible suit? who are intent on teaching the vain Emperor a valuable lesson and hilarious hijinks ensue.   Shade Tree Players will hold its run of The Emperor?s New Clothes at the Simle Middle School auditorium located at 1215 N 19th St. in Bismarck.  Performances are on Friday, February 21st at 7:30pm and Saturday, February 22nd at 2pm. Tickets are $5 each, with discounts available for school groups of 15 or more, and can be purchased at the door before each show.
