From Regional Emmy Award-winning filmmakers Derek Fletcher and James Wolner, Dakota Spotlight: Call Me Shelly is a documentary film inspired by the true crime podcast Dakota Spotlight. The film revisits one of Bismarck's most enduring unsolved missing person cases, the 1994 disappearance of Michele "Shelly" Julson. Through new interviews, archival materials, and original reporting, it explores the lasting impact her disappearance has had on her family, friends, and the community more than 30 years later. The screening will be followed by a live discussion and audience Q&A with members of the filmmaking team.
