Tracing Changes in Frontier Commemoration in the US from the 1880s-Present
To mark the launch of her website and book "Pioneer Mother Monuments: Constructing Cultural Memory," Dr. Cynthia Prescott, Associate Professor of History at the University of North Dakota, is giving a series of public presentations at museums and historic sites adjacent to several of the most important pioneer monuments included in her study. Her book and website trace the changes in frontier commemoration in the United States from the 1880s to the present.
