A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum

Dakota Stage Ltd. is proud to present A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, a fabulous musical farce, as the first show of 2014.  Starring familiar DSL faces such as Lindsay Fisher, Tim Johnson and Dirk Huggett, welcoming a host of newcomers including Adam Frank and Ashlyn Quintus, and directed by Debi Rogers, A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum is sure to be a dazzling, hilarious delight.  Broadway's greatest farce is light, fast-paced, witty, irreverent and one of the funniest musicals ever written. ?Forum? takes comedy back to its roots, combining situations from time-tested, 2000 year old comedies of Roman playwright Plautus with the infectious energy of classic vaudeville. ?Forum? is a non-stop laugh-fest in which Pseudolus, a crafty slave, struggles to win the hand of a beautiful but slow-witted courtesan named Philia, for his young master, Hero, in exchange for freedom. The plot twists and turns with cases of mistaken identity, slamming doors, and a showgirl or two.  This unforgettable, hysterical musical allows a terrific ensemble of comedic actors to shine--"something for everyone, a comedy tonight!" Dakota Stage Ltd. will hold its run of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum at 412 E Main Ave. in Bismarck.  Performances are at 7:30pm on Wednesdays through Saturdays and at 2pm on Sundays from January 30th through February 9th.  Tickets are $26 ($25 when purchased online) for adults and $23 ($22 when purchased online) for students, seniors, and military personnel.  Reservations can be made anytime online at www.dakotastageltd.com or after January 20th via email at execdir@dakotastageltd.com, by phone at 701-258-4998 and at the door before each show.
