Special Saturdays: "Persistence" Theater Performance
Join us for a free performance of "Persistence," the inspiring story of how women acquired full voting rights in North Dakota. Before statehood, women and men in Dakota Territory began the fight for woman suffrage. After statehood, Elizabeth Preston Anderson and Linda Slaughter stood out for their many contributions to the struggle. "Persistence" brings these two to life as they walk the audience through the commitment required to secure voting rights for women in early North Dakota. This performance is part of the State Historical Society of North Dakota's Special Saturdays series. Special Saturdays are free cultural programs that include a variety of lectures, concerts, movies, and tours. The production is co-sponsored by the North Dakota Suffrage Centennial Committee.
