Pavement Marking Technician

We are seeking a Pavement Marking Technician to drive and operate paint/epoxy application equipment used for applying pavement markings across highways, roadways, parking facilities, and airport surfaces. This role includes equipment maintenance and safe, efficient operation in a field environment.
Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the layout, preparation, and application of pavement markings.
  • Read and interpret maps, pavement marking plans, and project specifications.
  • Safely lift, carry, and stack pavement-marking materials.
  • Operate and change heads on small grinders; perform basic equipment repairs as needed.
  • Operate forklifts, skid steers, motor vehicles, and tow/backup trailers.
  • Load, secure, transport, and unload materials, equipment, and tools.
  • Maintain clean and organized vehicles, equipment, shop, and job sites.
  • Wash and clean vehicles and equipment used on job sites.
  • Inspect, fuel, maintain, and stock trucks and equipment daily.
  • Complete daily logs, time sheets, and job paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Follow all company safety procedures, policies, and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers, customers, contractors, and engineers.
  • Support additional departments—including striping, traffic control, and sign shop—when needed to ensure timely project completion.
  • Conduct yourself professionally with a positive attitude, teamwork mindset, and respect for coworkers and workspaces.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Conditions & Physical Requirements
  • Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
  • Regular exposure to moving traffic, machinery, noise, fumes, and airborne particles.
  • Frequent walking, standing, bending, climbing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and reaching.
  • Ability to lift and move 50 lbs regularly and over 100 lbs occasionally.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods without frequent breaks.
  • Overtime is required and expected; schedules vary based on project needs.
Requirements
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • CDL may be required; Class A with combination endorsement is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work safely in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and maintain a drug-free status.
  • Basic math skills, including ability to read a tape measure.
  • Physically capable of performing all pavement-marking and flagging duties.
