Hands-On Photograph Collection Workshop
Do you have a family photograph collection to work on, but don’t know where to begin? We are here to help! Join the State Archives and North Dakota State Library staff for this hands-on workshop! We will teach you how to: • Number your photograph collection so you can easily find and scan photographs • Describe your photographs following professional standards • Create a simple system to search for people, places, and subjects in the collection • Scan and store your photographs. Please bring a representative sample of 15 photographs from your collection to get started. All formats - prints, negatives, slides, etc. – are welcome! We also will scan part of your collection, time permitting, and send files home with you. Please note that participants will be required to have or create a Gmail account prior to the session. We will provide instructions for this process. The cost for the workshop is $10. Space is limited, so reserve your place early at photocollection2.eventbrite.com. Please contact Emily Ergen (eergen@nd.gov) with any questions.
