Economic Development Marketing Coordinator

Position / Parameters 

 

The Economic Development Marketing Coordinator serves at the will of the President and will lead the Chamber EDC’s economic development marketing efforts. These duties include, but are not limited to: the preparation of Chamber EDC publications, the development and implementation of business attraction and talent attraction marketing efforts, and the maintenance of economic development-related content at www.bismarckmandanedc.com and www.makeyourmarkbisman.com.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

 

Must possess excellent writing skills and be capable of making clear visual presentations to promote the Bismarck-Mandan community.

 

Must be a highly motivated, self-starter capable of working towards the accomplishment of the Chamber EDC’s strategic goals. 

 

Must maintain an appropriate professional appearance, attitude and behavior at all times.

 

Must maintain a positive working relationship with all members of the Chamber EDC, the Chamber EDC Staff, Chamber EDC Volunteers, City and County Commissions and the public.  

 

Position Responsibilities 

 

In conjunction with the Vice President, develop marketing pieces such as online and print advertisements, trade show materials, brochures, direct messages and more as part of the Chamber EDC’s economic development efforts. These economic development efforts include, but are not limited to: entrepreneurial development, business retention and expansion, and business attraction. 
In conjunction with the Vice President and the rest of the economic development team, develop marketing pieces such as online and print advertisements as well as social

media posts directed at people living outside the state of North Dakota to create awareness about Bismarck-Mandan as part of the organization’s talent attraction efforts.

Attend and represent the Bismarck Mandan Chamber EDC at economic development-related events such as trade shows and conferences as well as regularly scheduled Chamber EDC events. 
Research and analyze the impacts of economic development marketing efforts such as direct mailings (hard copy & electronic), social media posts, and more to report and consequently, improve those efforts. 
Develop and maintain economic development-related content on the Chamber EDC’s website at www.bismarckmandanedc.com and www.makeyourmarkbisman.com.
Develop and distribute Chamber EDC publications including but not limited to: the Chamber EDC Economy at a Glance, Connection Magazine content, and Community Partners Quarterly Newsletter. 
Lead the Chamber EDC’s efforts to collect and submit cost of living data to the Council for Community and Economic Research (C2ER), on a quarterly basis, which in turn is used to populate the cost of living calculator on the Chamber EDC’s website at www.bismarckmandanedc.com
Collaborate with the Chamber EDC’s communications team to ensure all marketing and communications materials align with organization’s brand standards. 

 

Education and Experience 

 

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree with a focus in business, communications, public relations, marketing or a related field is preferred. 

 

Work experience in a related field will also be considered.  

 

Salary 

 

A competitive salary will be set by the President with the approval of the Executive Committee in accordance with the policies and practices approved by the full Board of Directors.
