Content & Communications Coordinator

Position / Parameters
The Content & Communications Coordinator is responsible for crafting clear, compelling written content that communicates the Chamber EDC’s mission and promotes the Bismarck-Mandan region to members, partners, and prospective residents and businesses. This role focuses on strategic storytelling, content planning, and message alignment across multiple platforms including web, print, email, and ads.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Exceptional writing and editing skills with attention to tone, clarity, and message alignment

- Experience writing for web, email, ad, newsletters, and printed publications

- Strong understanding of storytelling in a regional development or membership context

- Familiarity with economic development or business marketing is a plus

- Comfortable managing multiple deadlines and working collaboratively

Position Responsibilities

  • Write and manage content for Connection Magazine, including the monthly feature page on in-depth regional topics as well as articles to communicate the Chamber EDC’s work to its membership.
  • Develop original written materials for a range of economic development and member communication tools, including the Economy at a Glance, Community Profile, Business Assistance Guide, Workforce Development Newsletter, and Market Updates.
  • Create written content for presentation materials such as City/County Commission slides and State of the Cities slides.
  • Develop content for tradeshow messaging and business attraction efforts, positioning the region as a prime location for business investment.
  • Collaborate on and write advertising copy for LinkedIn, Meta, and other platforms, including sponsored campaigns and display ads.
  • Maintain written content on the Chamber EDC website, Business Attraction website, Talent Attraction website, and related industry landing pages.
  • Write email copy text for workforce and industry outreach, member engagement, and digital marketing campaigns.
  • Assist in curating content for Community Partner Newsletter Quarterly, internal publications, and industries-specific emails.
  • Support photo selection and light captioning for economic development event recaps.
  • Contribute written content and ideas for LinkedIn and Facebook posts that highlight Chamber programs, business growth, and community impact.
  • Coordinate closely with the Director of Public Relations and the communications and marketing team to ensure brand alignment and cohesive messaging across all platforms.
  • Provide event-day support to the Chamber EDC team and carry out other responsibilities as assigned.


Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field

- Work experience in a related field will also be considered.

Salary
- $48,000-53,000
